Jammu, Jun 26: Five persons including a mother and her two minor sons were killed after a vehicle they were travelling in skid-off and rolled down into a deep gorge in Doda district of Jammu division on Friday.
Reports reaching GNS said that a passenger (Eco) vehicle (JK019- 6674) on way from Ramban to Doda skidded off the road and rolled down into deep gorge along Raggi nallah in the area. Soon, a rescue operation was launched and bodies were retrieved.
The deceased have been identified as Mohammad Asif (24) son of Ghulam Ali of Dedda Gool Ramban, Tasleema Begum (30) wife of Shah Nawaz Gool, their sons Sahir (6) and Shahzeb (3), of Salbala Gool, and Kamran Mushtaq (12) son of Mushtaq Ahmad of Dedda Gool.
Meanwhile, DySP (Dar Doda) Kishtawar Showkat Ali told GNS said that the vehicle was on its way from Doda to Ramban when the accident occurred.
“Soon after receiving the information, we launched an operation during which we have retrieved the bodies of all five passengers from the spot,” he said. (GNS)
