34 travelers among 213 test positive, J&K covid-19 tally rises to 6762

Several Paramilitary Men, 14 Pregnant Women Among Fresh Cases

Srinagar, June 26 (GNS): Jammu and Kashmir on Friday reported 213 fresh coronavirus infections, taking the number of the covid-19 patients in J&K to 6762. 58 of the fresh cases were reported from Jammu and remaining from the Valley and included several paramilitary forces, 14 pregnant women and 34 travelers.

Giving the district wise break-up of the cases, officials said that Baramulla recorded 63 cases followed by Udhampur (40), Pulwama (23), Shopian (18), Kupwara (17), Budgam (11), Srinagar (10), seven each in Kulgam and Rajouri, five each in Anantnag and Kathua, Reasi (3), Pooch (2) and one each in Bandipora and Samba.

Sources said that among the cases, at least 74 were confirmed at SKIMS Soura, 70 at CD and 13 at SKIMS Bemina.
Dr. G H Yatoo, Nodal Officer Coronavirus Control Measures at SKIMS told GNS that out of 2653 samples processed at the viral diagnostic lab today, 74 returned positive for the virus.

Professor Farooq Jan, Medical Superintendent SKIMS Soura, told GNS that among them, 24 are from Pulwama, 18 from Shopian, nine from Baramulla, six each from Anantnag and BSF/CRPF Battalions, five from Kulgam, two from Srinagar and one from Kupwara.

Dr Riyaz Untoo, Principal SKIMS Bemina, told GNS that out of 590 samples processed at the hospital’s lab, 13 tested positive for COVID-19, all from Budgam.

They include male (55) and female (34) from Palpora, male (28) from Hanjigund Chadoora, female (19) from Zoogu, male (28) from Beerwah, female (49) and male (52),originally residents of Baramulla, female (65) from Charipora while five remaining persons—four females (17, 18, 36 and 45) and male (22) from Shankerpora.

Sources said that among the cases, 14 are pregnant women—ten were confirmed at army’s Udhampur hospital lab and four at CD hospital laboratory.

Moreover, officials said, 113 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 35 from Jammu Division and 78 from Kashmir Division.

Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Bandipora has 284 positive cases (including 01 case reported today) with 45 Active Positive, 238 recovered and 01 death; Srinagar has 795 positive cases (including 10 cases reported today) with 539 Active Positive, 234 recovered, 22 deaths; Anantnag district has 627 positive cases (including 05 cases reported today), with 165 Active Positive, 456 recovered, 06 deaths; Baramulla has 748 positive cases (including 63 cases reported today) with 375 Active Positive, 359 recovered (including 12 cases recovered today), 14 deaths; Shopian has 704 positive cases (including 18 cases reported today) with 176 Active Positive, 518 recovered (including 39 recoveries reported today) and 10 deaths;

Kupwara has 508 positive cases (including 17 cases reported today) with 134 Active Positive, 369 recovered (including 09 cases recovered today) and 05 deaths; Budgam has 358 positive cases (including 11 cases reported today) with 165 Active Positive and 186 recovered cases (including 06 cases recovered today) and 07 deaths; Ganderbal has 82 positive cases with 20 active positive cases and 62 recoveries (including 03 cases recovered today);

Kulgam has 751 positive cases (including 07 cases reported today), with 246 Active Positive and 494 recoveries (including 05 cases recovered today) and 11 deaths and Pulwama reported 409 positive cases (including 23 cases reported today) with 233 active positive cases and 172 recovered (including 04 cases recovered today) and 04 deaths.
