Srinagar, July 31(GNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Government has waived the One-Time Token Tax for state-owned ambulances that were lying unregistered.
In a notification issued by the Transport Department, the government said the exemption is meant to allow these ambulances to be registered and put into service.
The exemption will apply only to state-owned ambulances that were pending registration. It will not apply to any ambulance bought after that date.
Officials told GNS that the decision was taken so that ambulances already available with the Health Department but stuck due to pending tax can be used immediately.
The order was issued under the Jammu & Kashmir Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1957.(GNS)
