Srinagar, April 17:(GNS) Two militant were killed in an encounter with goverment forces in Dairoo, Keegam of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Friday.
A police officer said that a joint team of army and SOG launched a cordon-and-search operation at Dairoo area today wee hours. As such the joint team of forces intensified the searches, the militants fired upon them triggering off a gunfight.
A residential house where the militants were holed up was blasted by the forces resulted in complete damage to the house.
Two militant have been killed during the course of gunfight, the officer said.
While clearing the debris, the bodies were recovered by the joint team along with as many weapons, he said.
The identity of the slain and their group affiliation are being ascertained, he added. (GNS)
