Several Political Figures Extend Felicitations to Newly-elected Body
Sonawari, Jun 7 (GNS): The ‘Sonawari Journalists Association’ successfully conducted its annual elections here on Wednesday to elect fresh faces to lead the fraternity.
The election process took place at Dak Banglow Sumbal, in the presence of veteran journalists, Sahil Nazir and Sajid Rasool. The event saw participation of 13 journalists from various electronic and print media organizations.
Bhat Zahoor, from Gulistan News, was elected unopposed as the President of the Sonawari Journalists Association, while Babar Rather, representing GNS news agency, was chosen as spokesperson and Tahir Chilkey as General Secretary of the Association.
Addressing a presser after the completion of election process, Spokesperson-elected Babar Rather expressed gratitude to all the members of the association for exhibiting their trust in the newly elected body. He emphasized commitment of the association to meet the expectations of the fraternity and assured that they will try their best to fulfill their responsibilities effectively.
On the occasion, Senior Journalist, Sahil Nazir said that the newly elected leadership is dedicated to address any issues faced by journalists and will extend its support whenever needed.
Sajid Rasool on the occasion said that the aim of the association is to create an environment conducive to the growth and welfare of journalists and to foster a strong bond among the media fraternity.
Meanwhile several political and social figures which included Former MLC Sonawari & JKPC leader, Yasir Reshi, Apni Party leader, Imtiyaz Parray, and Jammu and Kashmir Rehbar e Taleem Teachers Forum (JKReTTF) Chairman Khalid Rafeeq Bhat Forum extended their felicitations to the newly-elected body and expressed hope that the body will take usher the fraternity towards success.
Notably, the Sonawari Journalists Association is a prominent organization representing journalists from various media platforms in the Sonawari region. The association aims to safeguard the interests of journalists, promote journalistic integrity, and foster professional development within the industry. (GNS)
