Jammu, Dec 18 (GNS): The State Election Commission has ordered repoll in four polling stations in Medhar area of Poonch.
“The State Election Commission has perused the reports …recommended repoll in 17-PS Hajama, DDC constituency Mendhar-A, 29-MS Sakhimaidan & 30-GMS Sakhimaidan, DDC constituency Mendhar-B and 32-MS Gallian, DDC constituency Mendhar-A,” reads an order by Secretary SEC, a copy of which lies with GNS.
The polling shall be done on December 21 from 7AM to 2PM and counting shall be done on December 22 along with the rest of the DDC constituency, as per original Schedule notified by the Election Authority, the order said.
All polling staff in these polling stations shall be replaced and additional deployment shall be made wherever need is felt, it said.
“Videography/CCTV coverage of the entire poll process, other than the voting compartment, shall be done at these polling stations.”
Additional security shall be deployed in these polling stations to maintain strict law and order, the order reads.
“DPEO shall take all steps to ensure a free, fair and smooth conduct of polling at these polling stations and pass on all necessary directions to the Returning Officer, Assistant Returning Officer and other officers /officials for the same.”
The DPEO has been also asked to direct all contesting candidates and political parties to replace their respective polling agents at these polling stations. (GNS)
