Rajouri, Dec 01 (GNS): Rajouri Police have registered two separate FIRs for violations of the District Magistrate’s prohibitory order banning the use of Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) within the district.
At Police Station Manjakote, a naka checking team, as per a statement issued to GNS, apprehended Mohd Nasar, son of Mohd Yakoob, resident of Dheri Raylote, who was found using a VPN application on his mobile device. Following the violation, FIR No. 107/2025 under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered against him.
In a separate incident under Police Station Darhal, police personnel intercepted Mohd Mukhtar, son of Mohd Taj, aged 38, resident of Madhoon Dodaj, Rajouri, during routine checking. He was found in possession of a mobile phone with an active VPN application. Consequently, FIR No. 73/2025 under Section 223 BNS has been lodged at PS Darhal.
The general public has been advised to adhere strictly to the District Magistrate’s directions and avoid the use of VPN services in violation of the imposed restrictions. Police have reiterated that enforcement will continue across the district to ensure full compliance. (GNS)
