Pulwama, Oct 22 (GNS): Inhabitants of Kalampora, falling under tehsil Rajpora, in this south Kashmir district are aghast against authorities over supply of ‘contaminated’ water to the village for last three weeks.
A local delegation told GNS that the water being supplied to the area through taps smells foul and dust settles at the bottom of every container every once we try to collect it. “The water is not fit for drinking at all and if consumed can result in major health complications”, a delegation member said.
Alleging the Jal Shakti Department (earlier known as PHE Department) of playing down the issue, the delegation member said that despite bringing the matter into notice of the department concerned, they have done nothing even after three weeks.
The locals have urged Deputy Commissioner Pulwama to intervene in the matter as to ensure that they get safe drinking water supply. (GNS)
