Srinagar, May 18 (GNS): Peoples Democratic Party on Tuesday expressed deep concern over the increased number of deaths due to covid-19 at District hospital Ganderbal.
In a statement here, PDP leaders including Ghulam Rasool Shaheen, Abdul Majeed Larvi and Afaq Ahmad said that from last several days, there has been increase in the deaths due to covid-19.
“Incidentally, the deaths have increased on commissioning of the oxygen plant and whether there is any connection with regard to it needs to inquired about by the experts to allay fears by some people,” they said, and urged the government to take all the necessary measures as may be required to arrest the increase in the deaths due to the virus.
The leaders also expressed serious concern over the scarcity of covid-19 vaccines and urged authorities to “expedite the scale and speed of vaccination drive.”
Meanwhile, the leaders expressed prayed for the departed souls and expressed sympathies with the bereaved families. “we stand by them in this hour of grief,” they added. (GNS)
