Man killed in Lightning strike in Poonch

Poonch, April 21 (GNS): A 60-year-old shepherd died due to lightning at Balnoie area of Mankote in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.

Reports reaching GNS said that the natural calamity struck Balnoie area of Mankote today evening. The incident occurred while the shepherd was grazing his cattle in the nearby filed.

Hassan Mohammad (60) who came under the lightening was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital by locals in an unconscious state, they said.

The doctors who attended upon the man declared him brought dead, they said.

SDPO Mendhar Neeraj Padyar, when contacted confirmed the man’s death due to the lightning. (GNS)
