JKSSRB Chairs 182nd Board Meeting

The J&K Services Selection Board convened 182nd Board meeting under the chairmanship of Mr. Khalid Jahangir , KAS , Chairman, J&K Service Selection Board in his office chamber to consider various matters pertaining to release of Selection List of Candidates for various posts (State/UT Cadre, Divisional Cadre, Jammu/Kashmir and District Cadre) ,release of withheld recommendations, Court cases, cancellation of Selections and returning of unfilled posts to various Indenting Departments.


During the meeting various Agenda Items relating to release of Selection List of Candidates for various posts (State/UT Cadre, Divisional Cadre, Jammu/Kashmir and District Cadre), withheld recommendation cases of State/UT Cadre, Divisional Cadre, (Jammu /Kashmir),District Cadres (Jammu / Kashmir) and PM Package (migrants), pending Selection list for certain posts, returning of unfilled posts to concerned Indenting Departments, Cancellation of selections under Divisional Cadre, (Jammu /Kashmir),District Cadres (Jammu / Kashmir) and PM Package (migrants), various pending legal cases in the form of writ petitions were also brought for consideration of the Board and appropriate decisions were taken thereon, after due deliberation.


During the meeting the board approved selections of 52 candidates for various posts advertised under State/UT Cadre, Divisional Cadre, (Jammu /Kashmir),District Cadres (Jammu / Kashmir) at different points of time and also decided to return 57 post to the Indenting Department due to non-availability of eligible candidates against the said advertised posts. Moreover, candidature of 08 candidates were kept withheld in view of various shortcomings / deficiencies in regard to qualification/eligibility conditions prescribed for the relevant posts in the advertisement notification/Indent.


Apart from this, withheld recommendations were released in favour of 28 candidates after they submitted the requisite documents meeting/fulfilling various shortcomings /deficiencies with respect to eligibility for the concerned advertised posts. 22 cases as placed before the Board, were deferred for re-examination, due to qualification related issues and other deficiencies. Moreover, the Board also decided to declare candidature of 14 candidates as Not Eligible, due to non-possession of requisite prescribed qualification / eligibility criteria on or before the prescribed Cut-off date.


Further, the Board also decided to cancel the candidature/Selections of 10 candidates as prior multiple notices were already served upon the concerned candidates regarding the cancellation of their candidature as the eligibity criteria(s) was not fulfilled by them.


In addition to this, 12 Court cases in the form of writ petitions /O.A pending before the Hon’ble high court and CAT were also deliberated during the Board meeting and appropriate decisions in light of the directions of Hon’ble Courts, were taken for their timely disposal by the Board which includes release of withheld recommendations, Selections, conducting of interview and cancellation of candidature.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Mohammad Shafiq Chak ,KAS, Mr. Nazir Ahmad Khwaja  ,KAS, Mr. Pritam Lal Atri , KAS,   Ms. Harvinder Kour, KAS, Mr. Ashiq Hussain Lily , KAS , Professor Tasleema Peer,  Members of J&K Service Selection Board; Mr Sachin Jamwal ,KAS, Secretary, Mr. Jang Bahadur, Special Secretary law ,Mr.Suhail Muzzafar, Additional Secretary Law, Deputy Secretary, Vinay Khosla and Ms. Mamta Rajput, KAS, Administrative Officer, Jammu, JKSSB.
