Srinagar, July 31(GNS) The Government of Jammu & Kashmir has approved a ₹6.59 crore project for the conservation and upgradation of the historic Imambara Zadibal in Srinagar.
The announcement was made by the official X handle of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, as per GNS.
According to the CM’s office, the initiative aims to preserve the rich heritage character of the Imambara while upgrading essential facilities for devotees and visitors.
The project is expected to focus on both structural conservation and improvement of amenities at the centuries-old religious site, which holds significant cultural and spiritual importance in the Kashmir Valley.
Officials said the conservation work will be carried out to safeguard the historic architecture, while the upgradation component will address facilities for the large number of people who visit the Imambara, especially during religious gatherings.(GNS)
