Srinagar, Jun 18: (GNS) Armies of India and Pakistan on Thursday afternoon exchanged gunfire along Line of control in two locations falling under Machil sector of north Kahsmir’s Kupwara district, official sources said.
They said that “Pakistani troops resorted to firing with small and medium artillery on two posts – Dogra and Gulab – in Machil sector which was retaliated by Indian Army’s 56 RR and 4 JAK RIF.”
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, local sources said that the two armies also exchanged gunfire in forward areas along forward of Line of Control including Kumkadi, Safawali, Lashded. “The fire was retaliated effectively”, they said.
However no loss of life was reported on either side so far. (GNS)
