Huge Quantity of Banned Camouflage Uniform Seized in Awantipora: Police

Srinagar, Dec 24 (GNS): Awantipora police on Thursday claimed to have seized a huge consignment of banned camouflage uniform items from a residential house at Larmoo area in Pulwama district.

An official handout received by GNS maintains that upon receipt of information about the “business of banned uniform items being run by a person from his home at Larmoh”, a police team conducted search of the suspected spot upon which “a huge quantity of banned camouflage uniform items were seized”.

Identifying the accused as Abdul Rehman son of Sanaullah Dar residence Larmoh, Awantipora, the statement maintains that the “business of banned uniform items neither has any valid permission for doing such business nor has the businessman obtained any registration for the enterprise.”

Furnishing the details of seized items, the statement maintains that Seven CRPF shirts, Eighteen CRPF pents, Seven Black trousers, Thirty-two Combined Chitra T Shirt, Forty-eight Chitra, Plain, Black T-Shirts, Three tie police uniforms, one winter shirt Angoola, two trousers of JKP Terricot, four Police sweaters, three CRPF Jackets, one pair each of black shoe, Red Shoe Long, Rubber Boot Snow Black, and Hicker Snow shoe Black, six Police belts, twelve Chain Rifles, four Police T-Shirts, one Pouch Citra, one Jacket Police Green, thirty-eight Patka (Romal Chitra +Black)=38, four Full Through, twelve Chitra Hand Gloves, thirty-two Woolen gloves, thirty-seven Chitra, Mix, one CRPF Neck, fifteen Neck Civil, fifty-one Woolen Caps, Monkey Cap, ten CRPF caps, sixteen Finger Gloves, twenty Leather socks, two Mosquito nets, one Line Yard, eight Black Anklets, one blue cap Blue, one Police Barret Cap, three Face Masks Chitra, twenty-eight CRPF Shoulder Badges, five ID Card Holders and three police Rain Coats.

A case under FIR number 197/2020 under section 188 IPC has been registered in this regard at police station Awantipora, the statement reads.

“Any role of the arrested person for providing these banned uniform items to the militants is being investigated and shall be dealt accordingly under relevant laws”, the statement reads. (GNS)
