Kupwara, Jun 5: (GNS) Hailstorm followed by incessant rains caused heavy damage to apple orchards and paddy fields here in Lolab and its adjacent areas, Friday evening.
Reports reaching GNS said that, hailstorm was witnessed in Divar, main Lolab, Krusan, Sogam, Lalpora, Daramwari and Khurhama areas of the district.
Locals from areas told GNS, that hailstorm followed by incessant rains caused heavy damage to crops and fruits including damaging the paddy saplings in the area.
Meanwhile, locals from the areas have demanded adequate compensation suffered due to hailstorm from the local administration. (GNS)
