Govt Listed ‘Worrying Factors’ Aggravate Since May 25: Official Data

Srinagar, June 13 (GNS):  On May 25, the government enumerated certain “worrying factors” and included among others number of deaths, active cases and number of locals as against cases attributed to the travelers.
Down the line, there have been at-least 32 deaths since then, six districts have more than 150 active cases and at least 10 districts with minimum of 200 cases have more cases locally than those attributed to the returnees. Also, ten districts have seen almost 150 more cases; three of them have registered more than 300 cases and two have more than 200 cases b.Comparative analysis of the data shows that on May 25 there were 23 deaths due to covid-19 and the fatality count has increased to 55 hitherto. Srinagar recorded highest fatalities of 13 deaths followed by Baramulla ten, Kulgam eight, Anantnag six, five in Shopian, three each in Kupwara and Jammu, two each in Pulwama and Budgam while one death each has been reported from Bandipora, Doda, Udhampur and Rajouri.
District wise date shows that on May 25, Anantnag had 278 cases while on June 12 the number rose to 483 and only 30 of the total cases are travelers.
Srinagar had 182 cases and in 19 days down the line, the tally crossed 500-mark with an increase of 320 cases and among the total 502, 186 are travelers while number of the active cases stands at 334.  
Kulgam district has seen the spurt of 343 cases from 182 on May 25 to 570 as on June 12. 334 of them are active cases and out of the total cases, 220 are attributed to travelers. 
Kupwara district with number of 178 travelers has seen increase from 165 to 381, Baramualla from 137 to 504 with number of travelers at 54 while Shopian district has seen the biggest increase in terms of the cases attributed to local transmission. The south Kashmir district has seen increase from 129 cases on May 25 to 478 as on June 12 and only 23 cases pertain to travelers. Bandipora district which was for quite some time was the worst hit district has seen somewhat improved figures. The north Kashmir district had 129 cases on May 25 and its tally stands at 478 and the number of active cases at 59, lowest in all district having more than 200 cases. However the cases attributed to the travelers remains low at 26, as per Global News Service.
Budgam district had 64 cases on May 25 and tally stands at 220 while Pulwama has seen increase of 177 cases. It had 26 cases on May 25 and hitherto its tally stands at 203—168 them being active positive.
Among the districts in Jammu division, only Jammu district has more than 200 cases- it had 21 cases on May 25 and now has 261 cases—increase of 240 cases in 19 days and 141 of them are active positive. The other district having almost 150 cases increase is Ramban. It had 45 cases on May 25 and as on June 12, the tally stands at 193 while Udhampur has seen increase o 116 cases dueing the time, kathua 100, Poonch 95, Samba 56, Rajouri and Doda 47 each while Kishtwar saw increase by 14 (from 8 on May 25 to 22 on June 12) and Reasi 18 cases (6 on May 25 to 24 cases on June 12.)
