Farooq Prevented From Moving Outside, NC Condemns

Srinagar, Feb 14 (GNS): National Conference on Monday strongly condemned the “undue restrictions on the movement” of Party President Dr Farooq Abdullah saying such measures are at odds with basic individual fundamental rights.

In a joint condemnation Party’s General Ali Muhammad Sagar, Provincial Presidents Nasir Aslam Wani, Rattan Lal Gupta, senior leaders Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan, AR Rather, Mubarak Gul, Mohammad Shafi Uri, Mian Altaf, Nazir Gurezi, Party MPs Muhammad Akbar Lone, Hasnain Masoodi; Shameema Firdous, Sakina Itoo, Javed Dar, Ali Mohammad Dar, Dr Bashir Veeri, Irfan Shah, Mir Saifullah, Dr Sajad Shafi Uri, Altaf Wani, Qaiser Jamshed Lone, Showkat Hussain, Peer Afaq, G R Naaz, Abdul Majeed Bhat larmi, GM Mir, Showkat Mir, Syed Tauqeer,Tanvir Sadiq,Imran Nabi Dar, Salman Ali Sagar,Sarah Hayat Shah, Ahsan Pardesi, Shafkat watali, Er. Sabiya Qadri, Irshad Kar, GH Rahi, Women’s wing, Minority cell, YNC wing, Media cell, provincial, Zonal, and district level functionaries of the party have condemned the measure saying such a measure has undermined the dignity of democracy by this action.

In a statement issued here, they said Dr Farooq sahib is a national level leader, whose commitment towards democracy and secularism remains unchallenged. They contended that the incumbent government was hell-bent on blatantly silencing every contrarian voice by hook or by crook. (GNS)
