Jammu, July 26 (GNS): The J&K Government has ordered dismissal from service of a Turncock working in PHE Division Udhampur for his alleged involvement in a Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) case.
According to Government Order No. 129-JK(JSD) of 2026 dated 20.07.2026, Shri Abhikant Sharma, son of Late Som Raj, resident of Rathian Meldi, District Udhampur, working as Turncock in PHE Division Udhampur, was found involved in FIR No. 43/2026 registered at Police Station Majalta under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act.
Keeping in view the gravity of the offence and in the interest of public service, the government has accorded sanction for his dismissal from service with immediate effect, the order reads.
Officials said the action was taken as per the relevant service rules. (GNS)
