Owner Of Prominent Bindroo Chemist Shop, Non-Local Hawker, Bandipora Local Among Dead
Srinagar, Oct 5 (GNS): In a series of attacks within hour or so, suspected militants shot dead three civilians including owner of a prominent chemist shop Makhan Lal Bindroo in Srinagar and Bandipora districts.
A police spokesman said at about 1925 hours, Police received information about a firing incident near Iqbal Park Sherghari area of Srinagar.
“Officers attending the crime spot learnt that the owner of Bindroo Medicate namely Makhan Lal Bindroo was shot at by the (militants) near his shop at Iqbal Park. “He received grievous gunshot injuries in incident and was immediately evacuated to nearby hospital, however he succumbed to his injuries.”
Official sources told GNS that he was fired upon at his shop and was shifted to SMHS hospital with multiple injuries.
Medical Superintendent SMHS Hospital Dr. Kanwar Jeet Singh told GNS that Bindoo had four bullet wounds. He succumbed to the injuries, he said.
In another attack, a non-local vendor (selling golgappa) was shot dead near Madina Chowk Lalbazar Srinagar at about 2015 hours.
The deceased person has been identified as Virender Paswan resident of Bhagalpur Bihar, presently putting up at Alamgari Bazar Zadibal.
Meanwhile, at about 2015 hours Srinagar Police received information about another terror crime incident near Madina Chowk Lalbazar area of Srinagar, where terrorists shot dead a non-local (street hawker) identified as Virender Paswan resident of Bhagalpur Bihar at present Alamgari Bazar Zadibal.
Later, unknown gunmen shot dead a civilian in Hajin area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Tuesday evening.
Official sources told GNS said that the gunmen fired upon one Mohammad Shafi, (Sumo president Naidkhai) at Shahgund Hajin Bandipora, leaving him critically injured. He was removed to hospital but succumbed to the wounds before being admitted to the medical facility. The doctors, they said, declared him brought dead on arrival.
“Police have registered cases regarding these incidents,” the spokesman told GNS, adding, “Investigation is in progress and officers continue to work to establish the full circumstances of these crimes. The respective areas have been cordoned and search in these areas is going on.” (GNS)
