23 Travelers, Cop Among 78 test Positive, J&K Covid-19 Tally Nears 5300

Srinagar, June 16 GNS): Twenty-three travelers and policeman were among 78 cases of Covid-19 reported in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday , taking overall tally to the infected persons in J&K to 5298.

Official sources told GNS that among the cases 14 were reported from Budgam followed by ten each in Anantnag and Srinagar, Kulgam (09), Pulwama (07), four each in Baramulla and Bandipora, Kupwara (03) and Shopian (01).
Regarding Jammu cases, they said, seven were reported from Samba followed by Udhampur (03), Rajouri (03), Kathua (02) and Poonch (01).
Dr. G H Yatoo, Nodal Officer Coronavirus Control Measures at SKIMS, told GNS that out of the samples processed at the viral diagnostic lab today, 41 returned positive for the virus.

Professor Farooq Jan, Medical Superintendent SKIMS Soura, told GNS among them, 11 are from Anantnag, nine from Kulgam, six from Srinagar, four each from Baramulla and Bandipora, three from Kupwara, two from Pulwama, one each from Shopian and Budgam.
The Annatnag cases, he said, were from Krungasoo: 01 Male (75), 01 female (65); Tanjimullah: two male (24, 21), 01 female (35); Mantripora: 01 Male (35), 01 female (20); Brakpora: 01 Male (45), Guree: 01 Male (45);
Anantnag: 01 Male (21) and Bijbehara: 01 Male (68).

Similarly the cases from Kulgam include Dooru: 01 female(33); Kadder: 01 Male (44), two female (40, 25); Ganosargam: 01 female (35); Awhatoo: 01 female (24); Poniwa: 01 female (29); Hanger: 01 female (36) and Kharbari: 01 female (22).

Two cases from Pulwama include one female (36) from Rahmoo and one male (65) from Shangerpora

The case from Shopian is from Feripora: Male (65) while of the cases from Srinagar is from Muftibag Harwan— Female (42) and Budgam: Male (75) from Beerwah Budgam.
The four cases from Baramulla include Zainpora: 01 Male (65); Sariwarpora: 01 Male (24) and 01 female (60); Kunzer: 01 Male (50 while the cases from Bandipora are from Ward 5, all males ( 18, 30, 30, 24).

11 cases were reported from CD hospital and include one from Tansuma—01 Male (38), Batamaloo Srinagar: 01 female (45); 01 female (address and age not available); two from Safakadal: 01 female (31), 01 male (24) and Harwan: 01 female ( 34), Dara Harwan: 01 female (57); Bemina Srinagar: 01 female (29) , Hazratbal Srinagar: 01 female (30) and 01 male (52); Ahmad Nagar: 02 females (80, 51); Umarabad HMT: 01 female (27); Pulwama: 01 female (NA), DPL Pulwama 01 Male (37) and Zaldagar Srinagar: 01 Male (36).

Dr Riyaz Untoo, Principal SKIMS Bemina, told GNS that out of 524 samples processed at the hospital’s lab, 16 tested positive for COVID-19 and include 14 from Budagm and two from Srinagar.

The Budgam case include six from Ramhoma Beerwah: M- 35, F- 25, F – 25, M- 08, M- 10, F – 13 besides
F -13 from Ompora, M- 30 from Charari Shareef and six residents from Shankarpora: M – 80, F- 70, M-40 , M – 35, F-12 and M-33. The Srinagar ones include M-36 from Hyderpora and M-49 (origibnally resident from Kupwara.”

Meanwhile, the government said 177 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals—78 from Jammu Division and 99 from Kashmir Division.
According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel Corona virus (Covid-19), out of 5298 positive cases, 2454 are Active Positive, 2781 have recovered and 63 have died; 07 in Jammu division and 56 in Kashmir division.

The Bulletin further said that out of 276174 test results available, 270876 samples have been tested as negative till date. (GNS)
