Srinagar, May 21: (GNS) Two BSF personnel were killed when bike-borne militants attacked a party of 37 batallion of the paramilitary forces near Pandach area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Wednesday afternoon.
The two-three bike borne militants/youth, also snatched two weapons from the BSF, Director General of Police Dilbag Singh told GNS.

“Two BSF jawans on Naka Duty at the outskirts of Srinagar city at Pandach Chowk were fired upon by 2/3 bike borne militants/youth,” he said, adding, “The jawans succumbed to their injuries later.”

Official sources said that the militants fired discriminately at the BSF party near old road Pandach, resulting in serious injuries to two personnel who were evacuated to nearby SKIMS hospital Soura Srinagar.
However, they said, both the injured personnel were declared as brought dead on arrival by the doctors who attended upon them.

Medical Superintendent SKIMS Dr Farooq Jan confirmed to GNS that both of them were declared as brought dead on arrival. Sources said that the 37 battalion BSF is stationed at dignibal Ganderbal. Meanwhile, the top police officer of J&K said that investigations have been initiated. (GNS)
