Srinagar, Nov 11 (GNS): Police on Wednesday claimed to have apprehended three persons possessing contraband at Daulatpora, Kreeri in north-Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A police official told GNS that during a routine naka checking, three persons plying in a vehicle were intercepted at Daulatpora area of the district this evening.
“Upon frisking, five kilograms of poppy straw and 250 grams of charas was recovered from their possession”, the official said.
Identifying the trio as Adil Ahmad Rather son of Abdul Hameed Rather resident of Wagoora, Sajad Ahmad Mir son of Ali Mohammad Mir resident of Saloosa and Javid Ahmad Mir son of Ghulam Qadir Mir resident Saloosa, the official said that the car bearing Registration number JK-05F 2490 used by persons has also been seized.
An FIR number under sections 8/15,21,29 NDPS Act has been lodged at police station Kreeri and further investigations taken up, the official added. (GNS)
