Kupwara, Dec 18 (GNS): President of Islamic Fraternity, Muhammad Aamir delivered an enlightening Friday sermon (Jummah Khutbah) today at Markazi Jamia Masjid Bait-ul-Mukaram in Lalpora Lolab of Kupwara district.
The sermon which was delivered on the topic ‘Muslim as a Da’ee’ was attended by a huge gathering which included locals and people from far-off places.
During the hour-long Khutbah, the top-religious scholar highlighted the importance of interfaith and inter-cultural harmony in the society and appealed Muslims to strive hard to achieve this purpose.
Citing the verses of Quran and Hadith, Aamir said that “It is the responsibility of Muslim Ummah to spread the word of Islam to those corners and ears where it hasn’t reached yet.”
“In whatever way, a Muslim has to contribute and play his part in spreading the message of Islam” he remarked.
“One can’t simply shy away from this huge responsibility irrespective of ones gender, race and all that”, Aamir said adding that “It is by this way, we can make this life and hereafter better for one and all.”
“A true word of Islam has to be propagated to dispel misconceptions in the minds of those who’re not familiar about the teachings of Islam”, Aamir said.
Later in the evening, an interactive session was held between the visiting scholar and some local youths at the residence of President Markaz Auqaaf-e-Islamia Lalpora, Mahmood-ul-Hassan, where the former exhorted young minds to work for greater benefit of humanity in general and for Islam in particular.
The youths vowed in front of the scholar to do whatever they can in their limited capacity in spreading the word of Islam and “will make lives of people in their community better, irrespective of their religion.” (GNS)
