December 11(GNS): Cracking a whip on illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police have seized 2 vehicles and arrested 2 persons in Baramulla.
A police party of Police Station Tangmarg under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg seized two vehicles (Tractors) and arrested two persons (drivers) at Shrai Tangmarg, involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals. The accused drivers have been identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Sheikh son of Gh Ahmad Sheikh resident of Check Ferozpora & Ashiq Hussain Khokar son of Mohd Arshad resident of Check Treran.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Tangmarg and further investigation has been initiated.
People are requested not to indulge in any kind of illegal mining activities from any Nallah as it is the violation of Government rules. Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law.(GNS)
