Srinagar, Jul 9 (GNS): A minor drowned in a river in Narbal area of north-Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday evening, officials said.
The minor had gone to river Jeel to take bath. However soon after venturing inside the water-body he drowned, prompting others present on the banks to raise a hue and cry.
A police party alongside locals soon after launched a rescue operation. His body was later fished out, they said.
The deceased has been identified as one Furqan Ahmad Tabardar (11), a resident of Parimpora Srinagar. He was at his maternal house at Ghat Narbal, they said. (GNS)
