Srinagar, May 5 (GNS): Militants also decamped with two service rifles of paramilitary CRPF after fatal attack at Wangam Crossing in Kralgund area of Handwara in north Kashmir on Monday, a senior police officer told GNS.
“The investigation is underway,” the officer said and responded in affirmative when asked if the militants fled with two service rifles from three CRPF men killed in the shootout.
Asked about comments on claiming of responsibility for the attack by little know The Resistance Front (TRF) militant outfit, the officer said: “It (the outfit) is just an offshoot of Lashker-e-Toiba”.
The outfit had claimed that “scores of Indian Forces Personnel” were killed and many more were critically injured while “rifles and ammunition was also recovered from them.”
Meanwhile, police station Kralgund filed a case under FIR number 60/2020 under section 307, 302 IPC and 7/27 IA Act in connection with the incident in which three CRPF men were killed while a 14-year-old boy Hazim Shafi Bhat died in “cross-firing”. (GNS)
