Srinagar, Jun 6: (GNS) Hailstorm followed by incessant rains caused heavy damage to crops, orchards and vegetation fields here in areas of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Reports reaching GNS said that hailstorm was witnessed in main Budgam, Gondipora, Chewdara, Arwah, Beerwah and other adjacent areas of the district, this evening.
The hailstorm, which lasted for around fifteen minutes, caused extensive damage to apple, cherry and walnut orchards including vegetation cover and crops in the areas, reports said.
Rooftops of many residential houses were also damaged by the windstorm followed by rains, reports added. (GNS)
