Srinagar, Jul 5 (GNS): An indefinite strike given by Dental Surgeons Association Jammu and Kashmir entered fifteenth day on Monday. The protesting medics alleged the administration of ignoring their genuine demands for last thirteen years even as claiming that none of the authorities concerned approached them for all these days.

“We dental surgeons are facing humiliation and step-motherly treatment by administration from last 13 years but it is very unfortunate that still administration is busy in their luxurious AC offices and do not show any kind of attention towards genuine demands of unemployed dental surgeons who are suffering”, General Secretary DSA, Jammu, Dr. Robin Tikoo as per a statement issued to GNS said.

“It is our fifteenth day of indefinite strike and it is very unfortunate that no one from the administration came to know about the ground of dental surgeons”, they said.

The demands of the agitated surgeons, as per the statement include: Absorption of unemployed dental surgeons through JKPSC and other centrally sponsored schemes; Framing a regular policy about recruitment of Dental Surgeons every year based on the number of seats at UG level in JKUT and a separate directorate of dentistry for smooth redressal of demands and grievances.
