Srinagar, Nov 30 (GNS): Police on Monday said that a drug peddler was arrested and recovered psychotropic substance from his possession in Srinagar.
“Officers at a check point established at Budshah Chowk Srinagar intercepted a person identified as Abid Bashir Tantray of Khanyar Srinagar. During checking, officers were able to recover 600 tablets of Spasmoproxyvon Plus from his possession,”a police spokesman said. Abid was arrested and shifted to Police Station Maisuma where he remains in custody, he said.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Maisuma and investigation initiated.
“Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law,” the spokesman said, adding, “Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.” (GNS)
