Dr Samoon launches WISE App for Online teaching in Budgam, Reasi

BUDGAM, SEPTEMBER 21: In order to give impetus to online education, Principal Secretary School Education and Skill Development, Dr Asgar Samoon, today launched WISE app for Budgam and Reasi districts in a meeting convened here today.

The meeting among others was attended by Deputy Commissioner, Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza, ADC Budgam, JD Education (K), Principal DIET Beerwah, CEO Budgam, ZEO’s, School teachers and other concerned while Deputy Commissioner, Reasi, Indu Chib and Director School Education Jammu besides other concerned participated through video conferencing.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Samoon said that WISE App is a new tool to overcome issues faced during online classes on Zoom and other software applications. ‘WISE App is a simplified form and shall provide platform for online classes in much better organized and systematic manner’, he added. He emphasized that the need of the hour is to have updated versions of technology which can efficiently run with minimal errors.

During the meeting, a demo on the way to use WISE App was presented by Muneeb Masoodi, an IITian from Mumbai.

“There shall be one week training for all teachers to acquaint them with the usage of the app”, Dr. Samoon informed. He said that the WISE app allows sharing of material and conduct of examinations which other software  applications lack. This shall prove to be of great significance in providing quality and outcome based learning to students.

Dr. Samoon informed that the Government schools would start functioning with 50 per cent teachers though it will not be complete opening and students from class 9th to 12th are resuming classes on voluntary basis.

Dr Samoon reiterated that no profiteering in the noble profession of education sector would be tolerated and private educational institutions found involved shall be deregistered as per law.

DCs of Budgam and Reasi said that their district administrations shall provide all necessary support to make usage of WISE App a grand success for both teachers and the students.
