Also directs for conducting sampling/testing of vulnerable groups

JAMMU, AUGUST 28: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma today asked Deputy Commissioner of Jammu division to scale up testing of vulnerable groups and take measures to send asymptomatic covid 19 patients to home quarantine. He also asked DCs to provide oximeters to the patients.

He passed these directions, while chairing a meeting of DCs to review the Covid-19 testing and other related issues in the districts.

It was informed in the meeting that the district administrations have started the measures for sending asymptomatic patients to home quarantine and scale up sampling/testing in offices, business establishments and other vulnerable places.

The DC Udhampur informed that the district administration has identified nine vulnerable locations including Business establishments,  Banks and government  Offices in the town.  He also informed that testing is in progress with average  500 tests   being done per day.

All other DCs also informed about the covid situation and management strategy adopted in their respective districts.

It was informed that committees have been constituted to monitor parameters set for sending asymptomatic patients to home quarantine, which includes a patient without symptoms, availability of separate room and washroom at his home and use of Arogya setu app by the patient.

The Div Com asked the DCs to provide such patients pulse oximeters and put up identification posters on the gate of their home He also directed for appointing local medical officers for regular monitoring of such patients, like checking oxygen level and provide them helpline numbers for contacting health services in case of emergency.

The Div Com sought district wise testing capacity and availability of oximeters and Rapid antigen testing kits in the districts. Some DCs sought more RAT Kits and  oximeters.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Additional Commissioner Jammu besides Officers of health department and other concerned, while Deputy Commissioners of Jammu division participated in the meeting through video conferencing.

Later, in another meeting the Div Com discussed the alignment issue of Jammu- Akhnoor four-lane road project.

The meeting had threadbare discussion on alignment issue from Bhagwati Nagar Chowk to Canal Head- the part of package 1 of the project.

The engineers of NHIDCL apprised the Div Com about the proposed alignments for final approval. All the officers gave their valuable suggestions for the finalization of alignment from Bhagwati Nagar Chowk to Canal Head.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Chief Engineer Irrigation and flood control besides senior functionaries of NHIDCL and traffic police.
