Assures Time-bound Redressal of Issues Raised

Kupwara, Mar 03: (GNS) District Development Commissioner Kupwara, Imam-ud-Din on Wednesday held a daylong ‘Awami Darbar’ at Warnow of Lolab in north-Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
The top-district officer was accompanied by officials of various concerned departments, who gave a patient hearing to the grievances raised by the locals.
DDC Wavoora Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir, who also happens to be the Vice-Chairperson District Development Council Kupwara appraised the District Development Commissioner about various public issues of the areas including shortage of electricity, scarcity of potable water, dilapidated road conditions besides upgradation of local schools and Medical Aid Centre.
Abdul Rasheed Masoodi delivered a welcome address even as highlighted various issues pertaining to the public to which the visiting officer assured of early redressal.
Welcoming the officer on behalf of residents and local administration, another local Mohammed Yousaf Wani said that it was their first experience to witness a public darbar being convened by any top-district officer in the frontier area.
Few other respected local residents including Mohammed Yousaf Lone alongside Mir Faisal also raised several issues regarding health and educational sector on the occasion.
The newly appointed DDC gave a patient hearing to all the issues and directed officials concerned to redress them on a fastrack basis.
DDC while replying to a question conceded that north Kashmir has been neglected vis-à-vis issues related to its overall development, however he expressed hope that with the conduct. of such initiatives (Awami Darbars), the things are likely to see an improvement. “My office is open for one and all and anyone can come and visit me without any hesitation to seek my all possible help”, he said.
Towards the culmination of the programme, the visiting officer held a brief interaction with the students present on the occasion and also participated in a plantation drive alongside other officials at Government High School Warnow. The top-district officer later on visited the ancestral house of Allama Anwar Shah Kashmiri to pay his obeisance and respect to the revered Islamic Scholar.
