CRPF Marks 5 Years of Its ‘Madadgaar Helpline’, Distributes Essentials, Facilitates Youth At 5 Locations

‘9 Lakh calls handled; 37000 families helped’: Spokesperson

Srinagar, Jun 19 (GNS): To commemorate 5 years of operations of CRPF ‘Madadgaar Helpline’, a distribution drive is being carried out in which 50 families will be provided assistance of various kinds including medicines, livelihood assistance to skilled youth, sports kits to students, wheelchairs and other essentials at 5 locations across Kashmir, which include Anantnag, Srinagar, Kupwara, Sumbal and Awantipora, said a spokesperson in a statement issued to GNS.

Detailing out further, the spokesperson said, CRPF ‘Madadgaar Helpline’ was established on 16/06/2017 and ‘has handled more than 9 Lakh calls and provided assistance to more than 37000 families across Jammu & Kashmir.’

Help provided by ‘Madadgaar Helpline’, as per the statement, included Medical assistance (medicines, surgeries, doctor consultations, ambulance etc) to 6385 families, 1081 units blood donated to patients in emergency, 131 cases of prosthetic implants & wheelchairs etc to disabled, 150 skilled youth provided assistance to setup their own business, More than 500 students provided assistance with books for competitive exams, stationery items, scholarships, sponsorships for tournaments etc, More than 450 women provided assistance in cases of domestic violence, eve-teasing etc, Assistance to more than 3000 families during natural calamities, harsh weather and help in accessing benefits under various Govt. schemes, Food and ration assistance to 9413 families, More than 10000 cases of assistance to public during COVID-19 pandemic and More than 3000 cases of assistance to Yatris and tourists.
