Poonch, May 15 (GNS): District administration Poonch on Saturday ordered an inquiry into the alleged negligence by hospital authorities, leading to death of a covid-19 positive woman in this mountainous district.
A resident of Mangnar Tehsil of Haveli Poonch, the woman died on Friday and was later cremated. Her relatives staged protest, accusing hospital authorities of negligence.
“A video went viral on social media ….wherein the attendants of the deceased are seen alleging hospital authorities of negligence in handling the Covid positive case,” reads an order by Deputy Commissioner Poonch Inder Jeet, a copy of which lies with GNS.
Further, the order reads, Medical Superintendent District hospital, Poonch has reported that the attendant of the woman “manhandle the doctor on duty.”
“The allegations are of very serious in nature and need to be thoroughly investigated,” the deputy commissioner underlined and appointed Dr. Basharat Hussain (KAS) Additional Deputy Commissioner Poonch as Inquiry Officer.
“He shall impartially inquire the matter and submit thefactual report within 07 days positively to the undersigned (DC).” He shall be fully cooperated with by Health authorities, the DC said in the order. (GNS)
