Covid-19: 139 Fresh Cases In J&K, Tally Rises To 2827

26 Pregnant Women Including Lady Doctor, 5 BSF Men, Dialysis Patient Among Infected

 Srinagar, June 3 (GNS): 26 pregnant women, one of them a lady doctor, were among 139 fresh covid-19 infections reported in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, taking the overall count of the patients in J&K to 2857. Also 5 men from BSF and three healthcare workers and a dialysis patient were among the total cases, 30 of whom were reported from Jammu division and bulk, 109, from Kashmir.    
44 out of the cases include travels and 95 others, officials said. Regarding the district wise cases, they said, one was reported from Anantnag, Kulgam 2, Srinagar 14, Kupwara 10, Baramulla 27, Shopian 24, Bandipora 9, Budgam 6, Pulwama 13, Ganderbal 3, Jammu 10, Udhampur 3, Poonch 10, Samba 3 and Rajouri 4.
Dr. Salim Khan, nodal officer for COVID-19 at the Government Medical College Srinagar, told GNS among the 67 cases were reported at CD hospital laboratory and include 26 pregnant women from Saipora, Devpora, tengpora areas of Shopian, Trehgam Kupwara besides Penzipora, Hathlangoo, Palhalan, Bomai Sopore, Seloo Sopore, Shiva, Budbug, Khajabagh in Bramulla district and Kagan Ganderbal.
Regarding healthcare workers, he said, one each is from Pattan, Handwara and Gundpora while BSF men include 38-year-old from Jalgoan and four others from Trehgam Kupwara. The dialysis patient—50-year-old man from Tragpora Baramulla was scheduled to undergo surgery while the one on guard duty centre at Baramulla is a 35-year-old, a resident of Mendhar Poonch.
Dr. G H Yatoo, Nodal Officer Coronavirus Control Measures at SKIMS, told GNS that out of the samples processed at the viral diagnostic lab today, 15 returned positive for the virus.
Professor Farooq Jan, Medical Superintendent SKIMS Soura, told GNS that among them 10 from Srinagar, two from Budgam and one each from Budgam, Anantnag and KulgamMoreover 54 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals. They include one from Jammu Division and 53 from Kashmir.
According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel Coronavirus (Covid-19), out of 2857 positive cases, 1816 are Active Positive, 1007 have recovered and 34 have died—four in Jammu division and 30 in Kashmirit said that out of 189364 test results available, 186507 samples have been tested as negative till June 3.Additionally, till date 193145 travellers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for surveillance which included 44389 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 45 in Hospital Quarantine, 1816 in hospital isolation and 53639 under home surveillance. Besides, 93222 persons have completed their surveillance period.
Out of the total 2857 positive cases in J&K, 1266 have been reported as travelers. (GNS)
