Plans Candle Light Tribute From 5 PM to 7 PM Today
Srinagar, Dec 9 (GNS): A two day condolence ceremony is being observed at Sherwani Community Hall, Baramulla by army’s Chinar Corps to pay homage to India’s first Chief of Defence Staff, General Bipin Rawat.
Lt Gen DP Pandey, GOC Chinar Corps along with GOC Dagger Division, Maj Gen Ajay Chandpuria and prominent personnel from civil and district administration paid homage to the deceased, as per a PRO statement received by GNS.
A candle light tribute is also planned at Sherwani Hall, Baramulla in the evening today from 5 pm to 7 pm, the statement read.
Pertinent to mention here Chief of Defence Staff Gen Bipin Rawat, his wife and 11 others died after the Mi-17V5 helicopter crashed in the southern state of Tamil Nadu on Wednesday afternoon. (GNS)
