Ramban, March 28 (GNS): Nearly a month after a man drowned in Chenab river following an accident, his body was recovered along the banks of the river in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.
Reports reaching GNS said that the body was recovered by police after being informed by locals who had spotted it along the banks of the river at Seri area of Ramban.
“The body was taken to a hospital for medico-legal formalities,” they said.
Concerned Station House Officer (SHO) Sunil Sharma confirmed the recovery of the body and said that it apparently seems to be that of the Tavera driver who had drowned 26 days ago in the river.
“We are still investigating the identity of the person and would be handed over to the legal heirs of the deceased,” the officer said. (GNS)
