Srinagar, Feb 17 (GNS): At least seven barracks of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) were gutted in a massive fire at Tatto Ground Batamaloo overnight, officials said on Thursday.
They said that the fire started at around 0300 hours from a barrack of 10th battalion SSB and spread in the vicinity. They said while at least seven barracks were damaged, no loss of life was reported in the incident hitherto. Sources said that at least seven INSAS rifles and some ammunition were damaged in the inferno.
An official of the fire and emergency department told GNS that soon after the information was received about the fire, several fire tenders were rushed to the area to put off the flames.
