Poonch, May 31(GNS) Army on Wednesday claimed to have apprehended three militants along with arms and ammunition besides 20 packets of heroin-like substance along LoC in Poonch district.
Official sources told GNS that one of army’s personnel suffered minor injuries in the operation.
“Some suspicious movement was noticed at fence by army at about 1.30 am, firing was started in which one army personnel sepoy Jaspreet Singh got injured,” they said, adding, “the area was cordoned and in which 03 persons were apprehended”.
They identified the arrested persons as Mohd Riaz (23) son of Mohd Farooq R/ O Karmara, Mohd Farooq (26) son of Mohd Rafeeq R/O Karmara Injured received bullet injury in left leg and Mohd Zubair(22) son of Mohd Razaq R/O Karmara.
They claimed recovery of one AK 56 , 1 AK Magazine , 10 Ak Rounds, two Pistol, 4 Pistol Magazine, 70 Pistol rounds, 6 Grenades, 20 packets Heroin Like substance 20 Packets and one suspected IED Like substance covered in a pressure cooker. “Further search in the area are going on”, they added.(GNS)
