Srinagar, Dec 4 (GNS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday said that Covid Appropriate Behaviour was absolutely essential and critical especially with reports of new mutation.
Sinha reviewed J&K’s COVID-19 situation and discussed preventive measures to be implemented against the emerging scenario. “Since WHO has declared Omicron as a ‘Variant of Concern’, we must be more proactive.”
He said Intensive testing, containment, and enhanced surveillance is required in areas reporting higher cases. “Directed Health officials to ensure utilization of full capacity of RT-PCR testing & vaccination,” he said as per GNS, adding, “Nodal officers shall monitor all international arrivals,proper testing of travelers.”
He said district administration shall intensify awareness campaign and strictly enforce covid protocol, masking and social distancing. “Proper awareness at Panchayat level be organized with the help of PRIs,” he said, adding, “Covid Appropriate Behaviour is absolutely essential,critical,especially with reports of new mutation.”(GNS)
