Srinagar, May 15: Police in Sopore of Baramulla district said to have rescued a kidnapped girl besides arresting the culprit within within twelve hours of reporting of the incident.
A police official concerned told news agency Global News Service (GNS) that a youth identified as Imran Ahmad Kanna a resident of Sheer Colony Sopore was arrested on charges of kidnapping a girl today. “The parents’ of the girl reported the incident to us earlier in the day following which a manhunt was launched”, the official said.
After hours of searches at all possible places, the team was successful in rescuing the victim and at the same time was able to arrest the youth involved in the act, the official said.
A case vide FIR number 124/2021 U/S 366 IPC has been registered in this regard and an investigation set in motion, the official added. (GNS)
