30 travelers, minor among 66 new covid-19 cases in J&K

Srinagar, Feb 5 (GNS): Jammu and Kashmir reported 66 covid-19 cases, including thirty travelers and a minor, in the last 24 hours, taking the total virus tally to 124785, officials said on Friday. Also, one more person—85-year-old man from Yenihama Lar Ganderbal— died due to the virus, taking the fatality count to 1944.

Among the fresh cases, the officials told GNS that 51 cases were reported from Kashmir Valley and 15 from Jammu division. Also, one district from Kashmir and six districts from Jammu division reported zero cases during the time. All other district barring Srinagar reported cases in single digit.

Giving the district-wise cases, they said, Srinagar reported 25, Baramulla 1, Budgam 8, Pulwama 5, Kupwara 1, Anantnag 6, Bandipora 1, Ganderbal 3, Kulgam 1, Shopian 0, Jammu 9, Udhampur 2, Rajouri 1, Doda 0, Kathua 2, Samba 0, Kishtwar 0, Poonch 1, Ramban 0 and Reasi 0.

A number of these cases were confirmed at SKIMS Soura, CD hospital and GMC Anantnag’s diagnostic labouratories.

The SKIMS cases include male (32) from Baghat Barzulla, female (50) from Hawal, male (29) from Dalgate, female (65) from Panthachowk, male (42) from Lalbazar Srinagar, male (65) from Anantnag, male (22) from Preng and female (06) from Manigam Ganderbal besides female (18) from Handwara Kupwara.

he CD cases include female (70) from Hanjanbala, male (23) and female (25) from Bellow, female (16) from Zarihar Machama, female (16) from Nagbal, two females (35, 55) and male (60) from Pinglish, three females (29, 38, 70) from Lal Bazar, male (70) from Amda Kadal, male (27) from Hawal, male (38) from Kathidarwaza, female (NA) from Peerbagh, female (80) from NA, male (56) from Jawahar Nagar, male (24) from Batamaloo, female (22) from Hyderpora, female (60) from Beerwah, male (90) from Bemina, female (80) from Shopian.

Meanwhile, 63 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals— 17 from Jammu Division and 46 from Kashmir. With the fresh recoveries, 122187 patients have recovered so far while 1944 others have died, leaving the number of active positive cases at 654—127 in Jammu and 527 in Kashmir Valley. (GNS)
