Bandipora, Dec 28 (GNS): Residents of Gadakhod Sumbal in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district are up in arms against the Power Development Department (PDP) as they are “facing unscheduled power cuts”.
Locals alleged that the department is not adhering to the schedule, which is causing lot of problems to them.
Mohammad Ashraf, a local resident told GNS that the students are badly affected due to continuous power cuts. “How can they prepare themselves for the upcoming exams without electricity?”
Basharat Abass, another local resident said that there are some patients in the area who are suffering from various diseases and need oxygen gas cylinders. “Some children have to be given nebulization and this is impossible without electricity.”
The locals appealed to the concerned department to supply electricity as per schedule.
Meanwhile, when GNS contacted PDD Executive Engineer Sub division Sumbal Ghulam Qadir, he said people are “misusing electricity which is causing problems to consumers.” “Consumers need to cooperate with us and use electricity judiciously”. (GNS)
