Kupwara, Oct 01 (GNS): A pillion rider lost his life even as the biker sustained critical injuries after a motorcycle they were riding on was hit by a tractor on Thursday evening at Hatmulla Nagri area of the district.
Reports reaching GNS said that a tractor bearing Registration Number JK09 7647, driven by a yet to be identified driver, on way to Nagri hit a motorcyclist near Hatmulla area.
The mishap, as per the reports, resulted in the instant death of pillion rider Murtaza Ahmad Mir (24) son of Mukhtar Mir and critical injuries to biker Parvaiz Ahmad War (27) son of Khazir Mohammad War, both residents of Hatmulla area of the district.
The injured motorcyclist was shifted to SDH Kupwara, wherefrom, as per latest reports, he has been referred to SKIMS Srinagar for advanced treatment.
Meanwhile the body of deceased pillion rider has been handed over to the family for last rites.
A police official while talking to GNS has confirmed the mishap and said that a case has been registered in this regard and investigations taken up. (GNS)
