Doda, Jun 13: (GNS) Body of an unidentified female was recovered from river Chenab here in Trungal Assar area of Jammu division, Saturday evening.
Reports reaching GNS said that a body was spotted by some locals, prompting them to inform the police.
“Soon after a team arrived the spot to retrieve the body”, they said.
Confirming the incident to GNS, SHO Doda, Muneer Ahmad Khan said that they received calls from the locals over spotting of an unidentified female body in river Chenab.
“We acted swiftly and reached the spot to retrieve the body” he said adding “The body has been kept in mortuary and we have sought public help its identification.”
Investigtions have been initiated under Section 174 of CrPC to ascertain the cause of death, the official added. (GNS)
