Srinagar, September 16(GNS): An electrician working for a private company was electrocuted to death while fixing a smart meter in the Yaripora area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Tuesday.
Officials told GNS that a labourer from a private company, Rahul Cables, was fixing a smart meter in Yaripora when he suddenly came into contact with a live wire. He was immediately shifted to GMC Anantnag in critical condition, from where he was referred to SKIMS Soura for advanced treatment.
However, doctors there declared him brought dead. The deceased has been identified as Sadiq Ahmad Badana(19) son of Bashir Ahmad Badana resident of Molabal Handwara.
Meanwhile, police have registered a case in this regard and investigation has been taken up.(GNS)
