Anantnag, Oct 23 (GNS): A black bear was captured alive in Sakdras Srigufwara village in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday evening, a Wildlife Department official said.
The official told GNS that the Department received information about sighting of a black inside an orchard near Bijbehara-Pahalgam road earlier in the day. “An operation was accordingly planned by a team of Wildlife control room Srigufwara which culminated with the capturing of animal after tranquilization at around 7:30 PM”, the official said.
The bear was later on released into its natural habitat at Aru Pahalgam, the official further said. (GNS)
