Srinagar, Oct 27 (GNS): Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary on Tuesday said the expansion of Omar Abdullah led cabinet was already promised and has now been completed, adding that the BJP should now be questioned over attacks on Kashmiris outside Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking to media after the oath ceremony at Lok Bhavan Auditorium Srinagar, Choudhary as per GNS said, “We had told people that we will do an expansion and reshuffle, now you see it. Now question BJP people or the LOP. Or will you again just eat sweets here and leave?”
He said with senior leaders like Ali Mohammad Sagar, Mir Saifullah, Shameema Firdous and Altaf Ahmad Wani joining the council, government’s delivery and accountability will increase.
“Our only aim is that people of Jammu and Kashmir should benefit from this government and that is why Omar Sahab has done this expansion. Now at least ask questions about work, leave this matter of expansion,” he said.
Reacting to BJP’s criticism that nothing happens by expansion, Choudhary said, “For six months they kept saying expansion, expansion. Now it has happened, now one issue of theirs is over. BJP’s work is only to mislead people and do politics because BJP has no issue.”
He asked media to question Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma over selective targeting of Kashmiris in other states.
“Ask Sunil Sharma Sahib why people of Jammu and Kashmir are beaten in whole of India? Why are they selectively targeted? In one day, did any BJP leader speak? The people of Jammu and Kashmir who are always known for hospitality, when they go outside, whether it is a driver or a common shawl seller or fruit seller, when they are beaten, it hurts because they are human beings, they go for their livelihood,” Choudhary said.
“Expansion is done, your issue is over. Tell us why people of Jammu and Kashmir, especially Kashmiris, when they go to other states, why are they beaten?”
He further said BJP should not defame youth and instead accept its failure to fulfil promises.(GNS)
