ADGP Kashmir Also Visits Panjtarni & Holy Cave to Review Security Preparedness

Srinagar Jun 28 (GNS): The Director General Police, J&K, Dilbag Singh, Financial Commissioner Home (Addl. Chief Secretary) J&K, Shri Raj Kumar Goyal and Principal Secretary to Lieutenant Governor J&K, Dr. Mandeep Kumar Bhandhari on Wednesday took an extensive tour of twin routes of Pilgrimage to Shri Amarnathji Yatra.

The delegation first visited Baltal Camp, then to Panjtharni, Chandanwari and Pahalgam Nunwan Base Camp to review the security, logistics and other arrangements for the ensuing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2023. The officers also visited Domail and Neelgrath Helipad.

The tour was aimed to assess the various on-ground arrangements made for the safe and secure Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2023. During the tour, the officers personally inspected and evaluated the security & logistic arrangements, working of Joint Police Control Rooms.

They also chaired joint meetings of deployed incharge officers of Police, CAPFs and other stakeholders at these places.

During these meetings the officers stressed for full coordination among the forces & other stakeholders for smooth conduct of the Yatra. They emphasized on identifying the sensitive places on yatra routes which need additional facilitation of the Yatris. The deployed officers were also directed to implement the devised plans on ground for security & safety of pilgrims and to work diligently to ensure the highest standards of professionalism while extending all required assistance and cooperation to the yatris.

The visiting officers also stressed on keeping all Communication networks through with all stations to meet any eventuality. Further Camp directors were directed to conduct fire audit of all langers & tents to avoid any incident. All deployed officers were directed to conduct regular meetings within the ranks and to ensure that the personnel deployed are briefed from time to time.

These meetings were attended by DIG SKR Shri Rayees Mohammad Bhat, DC Anantnag Shri Syeed Fakhrudin Hamid, SP Ganderbal Shri Nikhil Borkar, DC Ganderbal Shri Shyambir, Police Yatra Officers, Camp Directors, Incharge Joint Police Control Rooms, and other Police officers/Civil administrative officers.

Pertinent to mention that the registered pilgrims will reach base camps of Pahalgam and Baltal on 30th June and the first batch of yatra is scheduled to start on 1st July 2023.

Meanwhile Additional Director General of Police Vijay Kumar along with a team of officers from various security force agencies, conducted a comprehensive visit to Panjtarni and Holy Cave.

ADGP Kashmir Shri Vijay Kumar alongwith IG CRPF Shri Ajay Yadav, IG BSF Shri Ashok Yadav, 3 Sector Commander, SSP Anantnag and CO ITBP inspected the security measures implemented for the safety and smooth conduct of the pilgrimage to the Holy Cave. Shri Vijay Kumar was briefed by the officers on ground about the deployment to meet any eventuality. Besides deployment, ADGP Kashmir inspected drone cameras that are being used for better surveillance of the site & advised the officers to make adequate use of these modern gadgets to further augment the security at important locations.

During his visit, ADGP Vijay Kumar meticulously examined the security infrastructure, surveillance systems, and communication networks. He also interacted with the officers on the ground to understand their challenges and gather valuable insights to further enhance the security arrangements. The ADGP Kashmir physically inspected deployment of forces on the ground and instructed them for better coordination and joint efforts to achieve incident free and smooth Yatra. He also instructed the officers that the conduct of the deployed personnel should be exemplary.

During the joint survey, ADGP Kashmir Shri Vijay Kumar and the officers thoroughly inspected the entire track and reviewed security arrangements from Panjtarni to the Holy Cave. They assessed the condition of the path, checked for any potential risks or obstacles, and reviewed the existing security measures in place. ADGP Vijay Kumar expressed his appreciation for the diligent efforts of the security forces and acknowledged their unwavering dedication and urged them to maintain the highest level of vigilance and professionalism during the pilgrimage season.

ADGP Kashmir and the security force officers also interacted with other stakeholders involved in the pilgrimage arrangements including the representatives from organizations responsible for infrastructure maintenance, medical services, and other essential support systems. ADGP Vijay Kumar and the team actively listened to the concerns, suggestions, and feedback provided by these stakeholders, ensuring that their perspectives were taken into account when evaluating and refining the security arrangements.
