Anantnag, Aug 15 (GNS): Body of a missing person was found along the banks of river Jhelum near Zirpara Bijbehara area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday.
Official sources told GNS that some passersby informed the police about the laying of the body along the banks of the Jhelum. Soon, they said, a police party rushed to the spot and recovered the body.
The body, they said, was shifted to mortuary at GMC Anantnag. “After completing medico-legal formalities and confirming the identification, the body was handed over to his legal heirs,” they said.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Ashraf Shah son of Abdul Aziz Shah of Bhi Bagh Kulgam. He was missing from last several days, they said. “A case has been registered and further investigation taken up,” they added. (GNS)
